Saarr, The Search Essence

Posted in Saarr by SaarrMan on the January 22nd, 2007

Saarr… what’s that?? Another search engine..nope!!.. its not a search engine, nor its a page with a Google Logo on it.. Its something different..

Its SearchEngine++.. Currently it uses Google so,
Google++, its an increment or enhancement to Google’ search technique. I’ll explain it a little more.

Modern search engine namely Yahoo, Google , MSN, teoma etc provide their users with a textbox where they enter words which they want to search. Based on the search terms, these search engines fetch web page links from their database which are previously ranked using some ranking algorithm. If you are lucky, you may find what you are looking in the first few links but if you aren’t.. you need to open most of the pages to get to what is required.

SAARR trys to solve this problem, it is based on a summarization algorithm, which summarizes your result links and presents you with the summary of the web page even before you click on the link to open the page. The purpose of Saarr is to inform the user whether the webpage has the required information. This makes searching much more fun and easy.
